Hayley Wood is a Program Officer at the Massachusetts Foundation for the Humanities, in Northampton, where she has worked for over eight years. She is also an unknown, aspiring visual artist, joining thousands in Northampton alone, and is the mother of a most excellent five-year-old boy, which does even less to distinguish her while it is also her most worthy work in life. Her favorite pastime is doing nothing, followed perhaps by watching Lost. Way back in the day, when she was a graduate student of literature at the University of New Hampshire, she was the Managing Editor of the National Women’s Studies Association Journal. This experience led her to understand that almost everything in life can be analyzed in terms of gender and that many things besides books are subject to deconstruction.
