Matthew Mitchell is the founder of the project entitled "100 Faces of War Experience". One of the portraits from this project has been selected for display for one year at the National Portrait Gallery as part of the Outwin Boochever portrait competition. The 100 Faces of War Experience project has been exhibited more than 20 times while in progress since 2005. Venues to date include: The Springfield Armory Museum, The Massachusetts State House, the Coast Guard Academy, the St. Paul Central Library, and an upcoming exhibition on March 15th &16th 2010 in the Rayburn Congressional Office building on Capitol Hill--an exhibition held for members of Congress. The 100 Faces project has been the subject of numerous national and international news articles. Mitchell's painting technique has been the subject of an article in American Artist Magazine. Mitchell's creation of the 100 Faces project follows a ten year career as an illustrator. He graduated from Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, with a Bachelors of Fine Arts.
