Perhaps Obama's most brilliant speech

posted by

I really don't know whether this would make him a better president than Hillary, but my God, Obama is brilliant. You should just watch this, whether you're for him or not, for the chance to see political oratory on an extraordinary level. I don't think it's a stretch to say that, if he's elected president, he'll give the kind of presidential speeches we haven't heard since Lincoln.

I'd say FDR, not Lincoln, but YES. I was going to post it too. Also impressive is the control he's taken of the media. Barack says he's gonna make a speech about race, and multiple networks, including Fox News, run it live, in its entirety, and then talk about it all day (and I'm sure into the night tonight). Must make Hillary and her people just want to scream, they're really just shit out of luck running into this guy right now, he seems to be gaining momentum and his groove with every speech. Really worth listening to the whole thing. His frankness, his unwillingness to write off his friend, insisting that people are complicated, with good and bad in them, is really refreshing. He refuses, at least in this speech, as I see it, either to pander or to patronize, and that's just unheard of in American politics, at least I can't remember anything like it, ever, in my life.
