What is it with conservatives and going after PBS? Are they afraid Masterpiece is finally going to wither the mighty hand of the market with tea cosies in the drawing room?

PBS has a huge liberal slant and federal funding only accounts for about 10% of their revenue. It was a worthy cost at one time but now countless non-federally funded programming does a better job at educational programming.
Sometimes it's OK to stop federal funding for something when it's no longer needed. I wish the gov't would do more of that. The initiation of a program - any program - doesn't mean we need to blindly support its funding FOREVER.
