What light in yonder crater breaks?

Some cool stuff from other realms. some hairy:

The biennial beard championships just sprouted in Norway. I love that this guy needed help--

I don't know what to say about this unsavory mystery except that when someone knocks at the door, perhaps it's best to say "friend or enema?".

And lastly, there's a mystery hole in New Jersey. Which sounds like it means something equally unsavory, only it's quite literal (see picture below). Reminds me of the Wakefield, New Hampshire incident of 1977 in which a man apparently saw a perfectly round hole in his otherwise frozen solid pond. At the bottom, he claims to have seen a black--and square--object. Three decades later, in 2008, he found another mysterious black object nearby, as chronicled here. Here's a reprint of the whole 1977 story from Yankee magazine (second one down--the first is a briefer story aimed at debunking).

It's just such weirdness that I particularly love about New England.
