Old Challenges Met Anew

posted by Sarah Werthan Buttenwieser

In its way, it’s been a quiet week for me. I’ve thought a lot about those stuck spots—the ones that make me uncomfortable (think, neck, jaw, shoulder and think, pick up towel, herd kids out door in the morning). I’ve been counseled to rethink them. Opportunities, they are to learn and to follow in a new way (what, head against desk isn’t working?). I’ve contemplated the notion that when frustrated you can step back, step away, take a breath, let chips fall for a bit and re-engage.

I have a lot to chew on, here.

This week, I’m grateful for new ideas to meet old challenges. Grateful for a school where “assemblies” look, for my kindergartener like this, near buddy or even in her lap. Grateful for spring, which insists now in a way that makes me believe it.

Three to share: Oh, I like cards. I just purged a lot of stationery/cards. Even though I have too many cards and postcards, I’m sure to get more. I mean, I have friends like Colette, who owns Essentials making cards you want to buy and send directly to the right person.

Then, I have friends like Molly, who just seems to ooze designs from her non-waking hours. This week, she presented the chance to find her work from two different companies, two different lines.

Lastly, this is CLPP weekend—the big reproductive justice conference at Hampshire College (and yes, I just went from stationery to reproductive justice, whoosh—welcome to my mind). It’s always amazing. I’ll be there this afternoon talking about mothers and myths about ‘em. You should totally make it to Hampshire this weekend—for the sake of new opportunities to consider old problems, with a giant dose of inspiration to boot.

Great post i must say and thanks for the information. Education is definitely a sticky subject. However, is still among the leading topics of our time. fitness retreats: canyon ranch resort and spa - or best fitness retreats: fit woman - or top fitness retreats: one fitness camp. Thanks a million and please keep up the effective work.
