Holyoke Heritage State Park
221 Appleton St.
Holyoke Heritage State Park and the Visitor’s Center opened 29 years ago, says
Supervisor Charlie Lotspeich. "Three non-profit organizations came to the Park within a
decade: the Volleyball Hall of Fame in 1987; the Children’s Museum at Holyoke in
1988; and the Holyoke Merry-Go-Round (with its restored 1929 carousel) in 1993. The
Park is known as the place where people can ride the Merry-Go-Round, have fun and
learn in the Children’s Museum, hold parties at both those places, see sports history at
the Volleyball Hall of Fame, find out about local history at the Visitor’s Center, and enjoy
a variety of programs and festivals throughout the year."
