Allen House

This year in particular, staff at the family-owned and -operated Allen House (and its sister B&B the Amherst Inn) have worked extra hard to improve the quality of the experience they provide for their guests, including upgrading their bedding, cooking their breakfasts with locally grown food, and adding fireplaces to provide that deep, warming comfort that makes their common areas feel almost like home. Their historic Victorian rooms (seven in the Allen House, eight in the Inn) have private bathrooms, central air conditioning in summer and wifi connections throughout, plus a computer and printer for those who don't bring their own. Both also have outdoor patios and gardens.
