Lanie and Bud Delphin—who, incidentally, met through a dating service— chalk up this year's Best Of win to their emphasis on personal meetings, privacy and affordability, lesbian- and gay-friendly policies and the fact that they've already successfully matched hundreds of couples since their inception, including many that have married. Their client base in Western Mass. and its surrounding areas in New York, Vermont and New Hampshire ranges in age from 20 to 80 and includes, they say, Ph.D.s, teachers, truck drivers and everyone in between. "We don't think meeting someone who's compatible can be reduced to a mathematical equation," says Lanie. "Personal matching and coaching are hallmarks of our philosophy."
