"In a college built for 3,000, we have 12,000," says Holyoke Community College spokesperson JoAnne Rome. With a heavy influx of new enrollees because of the economic downturn, Holyoke College has shown extraordinary creativity and dedication to its mission. While carrying on support programs in reading, writing and math, HCC has also enhanced its transfer programs to help students progress beyond the A.A. degree, most recently by developing joint courses and credit transfer agreements with Mount Holyoke College and Elms College.
