John Lavryssen and partner Stephan Sears moved to Greenfield six and a half years ago. While busy painting their new house, they heard the bed and breakfast two doors down was for sale, and, realizing a lifelong dream, they bought the 1891 Georgian Colonial and its business. While they updated the décor ("The first thing we did was get rid of all the doilies," Lavryssen says), much of the staff stayed on, maintaining a consistency of quality and care longtime guests had come to know. The nine-bedroom bed and breakfast is now decorated with Asian art collected by the owners from their travels ("We've got lots of Buddhas"), and offers a full breakfast every morning featuring local produce, always with a slightly different menu.
