Owner Shannon Fleury says that B and B's "location in downtown Northampton plays an integral part in our business success. The surrounding colleges bring a constant new clientele of students and family. It keeps the area lively and current." People in the Pioneer Valley, she says, "are very health-conscious, and are very savvy about what the spa industry has to offer for their wellbeing."

Brooks and Butterfield's business philosophy, Fleury says, "has always been about outstanding customer service. Without that you have nothing. We don't want to be just another day spa, we want to be your day spa. We want our clients to feel like they 'own' a little bit of Brooks and Butterfield—a place that they know they can always go to when the world gets to be a bit much and they need a place to retreat to."

Looking forward, Fleury says that she and her team "are working on updating the look of the spa—continuing to remodel the manicure/pedicure area," adding some special touches to enhance the comfort of both clients and staff. Also, Fleury says, "we are continuing to nurture the development of our organic line of products and services."
