The largest farmers' market in the Valley and possibly in the state, the Amherst Farmers' Market lures thousands every Saturday morning to its comprehensive array of vegetables and fruit—mostly organic—locally produced meat, eggs and milk, and specialty items, from cheese and baked goods to popsicles from Amherst's Sunset Farm (try the rhubarb pop). The 38-year-old market draws everybody "from college presidents to people with WIC coupons," notes Connie Gillen, a member of the organizing committee.
