Chez Albert

178 N. Pleasant St.
Amherst, MA
(413) 253-3811

www.chezalbert.net

Nothing screams "taste" like French food. Featuring a dynamic, seasonal menu with a big emphasis on local and organic meat and produce, Chez Albert stocks its kitchen with the help of 10 local farms. Imaginative fare includes (or has included) stuffed cabbage with rabbit, monkfish with oxtail sauce, in-house pates and escargot. The restaurant's wine list is approximately 70 percent French and focuses on organic wines from small producers; there is also a selection of imported artisanal European beers. Chez Albert holds special events on Wednesdays, often with themes such as "East Meets West," "French Colonial" or "Beer Night." For the sweet of tooth: dessert-side options include seasonal crepes and a famous wheat-free chocolate torte.
