It's the year of the sweet tooth at the Smith College Museum of Art. This summer a new exhibit, "Luscious: The Paintings of Emily Eveleth," focuses on bismarcks (images of the jelly doughnut, not the Iron Chancellor). Next fall, a large installation by Cuban-born Maria Magdalena Compos-Pons will concentrate on sugar and its history. The exhibits are part of the Museums10 thematic project on the history and science of food. Meanwhile Smith continues its popular Second Fridays, drawing hundreds of people of all ages on the second Friday of each month for viewing, hands-on activities and gallery talks.
