Unfurl the sails; deck season starts April 19, and the Brewery is prepared with an extra four tap lines (now pouring 16 brews, up from 12 last year, including Brewmaster Donald Pacher's new "Juggernaut" American-style IPA) and a renewed commitment to local food sourcing, including increased use of local meat, produce and sustainable seafood from Turners Falls' Australis Aquaculture. Sundays feature Irish music with Banish Misfortune, and "beer social" mini-festivals are held every other month to sample the newest brews. Every second Wednesday is "Green Night," where people can connect about environmentally responsible initiatives over green drinks. For the Brewery's part, it's just installed solar panels to help power the brewing process and has cut its utilities by about 50 percent since its deep energy retrofit.
