Dave Ratner clearly enjoys what he does, although he won't accept the credit for the success of his 34-year-old business. "It's nothing I do. I have the best crew in the history of the world," he says. "I won't lie. We go through a lot of pits to get the cherries." With four locations, including two new spots, in Northampton (which is now a complete Agway dealer) and Agawam, there's a lot going on at Dave's, from do-it-yourself dog washes to animal training classes to a Feline Friends adoption center in Agawam. Check out the in-store exercise balls for dogs (picture a giant hamster ball, sized for pooches up to 45 pounds).
