Owner Mark Krause says Esselon sees 2,000 to 3,000 customers a week, from people stopping for their morning coffee fix to those who stay for a meal (the café offers breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week). They come, he says, for Esselon's fresh-roasted coffee (served at the café and shipped throughout the region) and its freshly prepared dishes, including pizza on handmade crusts and homemade soups. Springtime brings the opening of Esselon's outdoor seating, in a garden with hammocks, Adirondack chairs and 1,100 tulips.
