You know the MSPCA helps match pet lovers with pets in need of homes; last year, the organization found homes for 2,800 dogs, cats, rabbits and other domestic animals, notes Pam Peebles, manager of the adoption center. But the group also offers public education about topics like spaying and neutering; an advocacy arm that works for pro-animal legislation; and a law enforcement branch--a division of the state police--with officers who investigate cases of suspected abuse or neglect.
