Herrell's founder Steve Herrell and his wife and partner, Judy Herrell, report several new flavors among the more than 150 offered at their shop--among them, New England chocolate chip (which has a maple background), maple bourbon (inspired by the sauce at the late lamented Holy Smokes barbecue restaurant), and a peach flavor coming this spring. Happily, much remains the same at this local landmark, with its old-fashioned booths and perennial menu favorites like banana splits and hot fudge sundaes. "We're very traditional," Steve says.
