Gramp's is one of Holyoke's best-kept little secrets, though enough hungry patrons have sniffed it out to make it a popular, comfortable meeting place for breakfast and lunch. It's a place where "friends meet friends," says co-owner Danuta Wojcik, and it serves up a wide variety of Polish cuisine including pierogi, potato pancakes, boiled or fried kielbasa, stuffed cabbage, strawberry and blueberry cheese blintzes and even slight ethnic diversions like wienerschnitzel and Ukranian borscht. Its Lyman Street location just off Rte. 202 is at a nexus of traffic from every direction in the Valley, and its reputation as an authentic and homey dining spot has put it on its way to becoming a local legend.
