Maybe you didn’t have the time or resources to travel to D.C. last weekend for the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington. But that doesn’t mean you can’t mark the historic event. Tomorrow—Aug. 28, the date of the original march—the community organizations Arise for Social Justice and AWAKE will gather with supporters for a stand-out against racism along the State Street corridor in Springfield. For more information, contact Arise at 413-734-4948 or at 467 State St.
Springfield, meanwhile, was well represented at last weekend's march; here, Boston Magazine has some coverage, including photos by the Rev. Talbert Swan II, president of the city's NAACP branch.
