Standing in the Shadows

Plain Old Tuesday Three

In a flurried hurried moment, I’m going to keep Tuesday—the three, the big three—short, simple and to the point—the three, the big three!

I hope we like Tuesday Three.

Three things I’m feeling glad about are the way Saskia seems to be enjoying gymnastics, the fact that the dear husband and I got a (very fun) evening out over the weekend and a nod to my increased flexibility in this silly form: Saskia wanted to put a Dora sticker on my (paper) calendar page; in the past, I’d have said no because I am the keeper of my calendar, but I said sure. Two Dora stickers later, tomorrow, Wednesday the tenth, is also Dora day for me. Growing up is a constant, if you let yourself do it.

When I read this article about the complexity of naps—and of course that makes me think about how tough sleep is to come by for some of us in the house—I guess I felt better to be reminded it’s not necessarily so straightforward. In a related link, I am fondly remembering when I had a sound machine and could drift off to the ocean’s rhythms. Mine was smaller but the point is, maybe our house needs some sleepy sounds.

One of my favorite blogs is Momfilter and I feel really fortunate to write for it some, this week about the very wonderful Horrible series (catchy, huh?).

Although I haven’t even seen it yet, I am completely all over Nashville. It starts tomorrow. It’s a next step for Tami Taylor (well, Connie Britton) that I will find much more than palatable. I pretty much cannot wait. I hope it’s half as good as I’ve decided it’s bound to be. Clear eyes, full heart, will watch.
