You might remember a bizarre story floating around entertainment websites and blogs last summer: some rapper was writing a mix tape devoted to what? Seinfeld? Wale's Mixtape About Nothing, which contains quirky catchphrases and the voice of Julia Louis-Dreyfus, is a compilation that critiques the current hip-hop world in a sardonic Seinfeld tradition. Think Kramer (played by Michael Richards), bobble-headed and crazed, meets a scathing review of Richards' onstage racism. Now touring with UCB and Colin Munroe, Wale brings his Attention Deficit Tour to Northampton for a night of fiery hip-hop and rap.

May 10, $10/advance, $13/door, Pearl Street Ballroom, 10 Pearl Street, Northampton, (413) 210-8810, www.unitefootwear.com/events.html.
