Dishcrawl is a new, nationwide organization whose mandate makes it a natural fit for the Valley—it aims to connect people with the homegrown treasures of their dining scene. New Dishcrawl Pioneer Valley ambassador Jennifer Iannoconi hosts the first Northampton Dishcrawl this week.
A dishcrawl works much like a pubcrawl. Diners go on a food journey, walking from one restaurant to another, enjoying the creations of local chefs at each stop. Iannoconi says the emphasis is on local, and vegetarian options are available. The first restaurant is announced 48 hours before the event; the rest remain a surprise.

Dishcrawl: May 21, 7 p.m., $45 per person (beverages not included), Northampton. For more info, visit www.dishcrawl.com/pioneervalley.
