For many, dancing is a slight rock of the hips that could easily be confused with scratching an itch. This was not the case with the late “Dancing Larry” Howes. Larry was the hallmark of a good party and the king of local dancefloors. His appreciation for area musicians is unmatched, and in the hope of returning those good vibes, dozens of Valley artists are teaming up on Larrypalooza II. A second act to the first Larrypalooza, which raised money for Larry’s medical bills, Saturday’s 21-plus event at One Bar and Grill in Northampton will raise money for a memorial marker chosen by his family. The event kicks off at 2 p.m. and features 30 live acts — including Creepin Cadavers, Leafies You Gave Me, Yucky Octopus, The Instagaters, Rusty Curtains, Stiletto Bomb, Pretty Penny, Wishbone Zoe, Big Bad Bollocks, Rev Dan and the Dirty Catechism, and more — and wraps around close. It’ll take more of us to equal the energy he brought to the dancefloor, so show up and get your sweat on in the name of Dancing Larry Howes.
Larrypalooza II, Nov. 28, Saturday, 2 p.m. to 1 a.m. $10. One Bar and Grill, 1 Pearl St., Northampton, www.facebook.com/larrypalooza/.
