On Saturday, the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center will host its annual post-Thanksgiving screening of The Wizard of Oz. Since everyone knows the intimate details of this classic, I’m just going to drop a couple of our favorite quotes from the movie:
• Dorothy: How do you talk if you don’t have a brain?
Scarecrow: Well, some people without brains do an awful lot of talking don’t they?
• I’m melting! melting! Oh, what a world! What a world! Who would have thought a good little girl like you could destroy my beautiful wickedness?
• You, my friend, are a victim of disorganized thinking. You are under the unfortunate impression that just because you run away you have no courage; you’re confusing courage with wisdom.
• As Coroner I must aver, I thoroughly examined her, and she’s not only merely dead, she’s really most sincerely dead.
