The watchword of improv,” Pam Victor reminds us, “is yes, and… ” That means going with whatever your scene partner throws at you, and adding something of your own that moves things along. Victor and her fellow improvisers in The Ha-Ha’s have joined with colleagues from the Majestic Theater’s Majesters troupe and the Villa Jidiots to stage Sunday Improv Fun Time, a monthly “improv jam” and show. Here the audience-participation element of comedy improv, usually limited to shouted suggestions for scene topics, stretches to include spectators as (optional) participants. “This show is all about saying ‘yes,’” Victor explains. After willing civilians have the opportunity to “dip their toes in the improv waters,” the pros cap the evening with a longform improv.
