The third annual Double Take Fringe Festival romps through a variety of underused spaces and architectural curiosities this weekend in downtown Greenfield. The eight mini-productions range from a Chekhov farce to a Tennessee Williams parody, from improvisational clowning to the connection between the H-bomb and the Fender Stratocaster, from the Jim Crow lunch counter to the Nazi dawn, as well as an interdisciplinary “mythic odyssey,” the mystery of a dead surfer and an immersive kids’ piece that brings an epistolary novel to life. Each show performs multiple times over the two-day fest, which coincides with the annual WORD Festival (humanerrorpublishing.com) and a marathon of one-minute films (oneminutefestgreenfield.org).
