Sandy Chapin, widow of songwriter Harry Chapin, grew up in the Valley. She was near West Springfield’s Majestic, where Lies & Legends, a musical built around Chapin’s songs, is playing, and stopped in. Gobsmacked director Danny Eaton described the encounter as “extraordinarily coincidental,” citing the visit and that a member of the original New York cast is in this production as proof of the show’s final number, “All My Life’s a Circle.”
